If storms could be compared to beavers, well....this one would be bad.

This should be a permanent institution...get every Thursday off from school.

That's right...it was a week ago today that they announced school would be cancelled on Thursday because of Weather Spawn of Satan, Isidore.

And while that was fun and all, almost getting blown away by the MOFO WINDS, I don't think I want to do it again. Yet we've only been back at school for three days, and they've cancelled it again??

I will release the wrath of Uberbitch if I miss any more Thursdays. I actually like my schedule on Thursday, as opposed to every other day, when I just piss and moan about what a horrible day I'm having because of my damned schedule.

And you'd think that the weather gods would have mercy on our poor, bourbon-drinking souls. Nay! Satan Itself, Lili, is heading straight towards us and looking pretty pissed in the meantime. If a storm could be pissed, that is.

So the central office of the school board (who I don't actually think graduated high school themselves, and if they did, everyone at my school is smarter than them anyway) declared to tomorrow be Hide In Your House And Board Up Your Windows Day. I mean, I think this is a record or something. Two really bad hurricanes to hit the same place within a week? It's got to be. Except during fifth hour today, we were watching TV and it said that they eye of the storm was pretty much headed straight for New Orleans.

That's cool and all, nobody seemed to worry because after all, the eye is the calm part, right???

OH YEAH, EXCEPT FOR THAT MINISCULE DETAIL KNOWN AS THE EYE WALL THAT IS EQUIVALENT TO A HUNDRED SMALL, ANGRY TORNADOS.

Everyone seems to forget about that for some reason. I mean, my god, I live in New Orleans, you'd think that people knew everything about any given hurricane, but I guess not. The knowledge of the public astounds me once again.

And, oh yeah, as if there was any doubt...no school on Friday either.

But I have to unplug my computer again during the storm. Oh, power surge my ass, it's going to come on. I can't resist it.

(You'd think I would have learned my lesson after being mildly electrocuted while I was on the computer during Isidore, but NAY.)

---------------------------------------------

HOLY HELL, my grades just came in the mail. My GPA is a 4.57. Hell yes, at Ben Franklin High! It's only slightly tougher than Yale on a cold month. I think I have one of the highest GPA's in the school, and that makes the upperclassmen extremely ruffled.

---------------------------------------------

Here is a list about things I am mad about missing tomorrow:

1. Drama class, we were supposed to block the first act. Even though blocking sucks more than a Hoover, it's still drama and it's fun, okay?

2. Rehearsal for "Coppelia," the ballet we're doing this fall. But who cares, I have a twisted ankle anyway. I would have just made it worse.

3. Geography class, because I was actually interested in this movie we were watching on the Aztecs, Mayans, and Incas and now we won't get to finish until Monday. Jesus, by then I will have forgotten about it!

4. Biology class....syke!

---------------------------------------------

On a side note, what do you think me and my friends did Monday at lunch, after we heard there was a hurricane possibly entering the gulf? Tee hee...

---------------------------------------------

P.S. 3:44 PM- I just got a call from my grandmother saying that the hurricane was now a Category 4 and that the winds were up to 135 MPH. Well, I guess they're reporting that all over the country. But anyway. That's just scary.
