The Kitten-Killer Lives! No, don't freak, I didn't kill them. It's just that Brad, the surprisingly female mother cat, tries to smother one of the kittens. There are two black ones and two white ones. I decided that I'm naming one of the black ones Ozzie and one of the white ones Freckles but I don't know about the other names yet. I haven't decided. Let me describe this demented cat (Brad-ette): There is one kitten she tries to smother and there is another one that she drags across my room by the neck and leaves it apart form the other three kittens and herself. She totally keeps her distance from that one. bad vibes, or something. So I have to feed it with an eye dropped. Not a pleasant thing when you're dealing with a small, eight ounce blind cat with surprisingly sharp claws. (Luckily, no teeth yet.) I left to go to the mall today and I put the kittens, along with Brad, in a box tipped on it's side in my room. MOM: What if she has to go to the bathroom? (Brad pooped in one of our potted plants yesterday before we knew about the kittens.) So we left the plant in my room. But at least she didn't shit all over my bedspread like I thought she would. But have I mention how utterly flattered I am to have a cat give birth underneath my bed? Yes. There are many different unidentifiable stains in the corner now. I do not want to find out what they are. Small brown things, mostly. Other places are just wet. Ugh, I don't want to know. Really. Brad has no maternal instinct. Honestly. She smothers her offspring and, if she doesn't like them, she just ignores them and puts them in a corner with a haughty meow. I'm a little scared of having children now. I might try to kill them or something like Andrea Yates. But come on, I don't take out the steak knives on a baby-sitting job too often. I'm going to adopt a poor, starving child from Vietnam. Yeah. Damn that childbirth stuff. Damn it all. I now have to go save some kittens from their insane mother. *sigh* My work is never done. © alexa last / nextThe counter keeps breaking and pissing me off, so NO MORE COUNTER! Mwahaha! |
